A career in sales goes hand in hand with networking… which often means a drink in the other hand!
We’re still in a society where giving up smoking or drugs is met with rapturous applause, while saying no to a drink… ‘Oh come on, don’t be so boring!’
So how hard is it to say no? It is estimated that 60% of people use alcohol as a way to cope with life, but alcohol can act as a depressant and makes us feel groggy, which definitely doesn’t go hand in hand with a career in sales.
This is by no means a preaching session to stop drinking, but an open discussion on how we use alcohol, the effects and what more employers can do to support mental maintenance, in regard to alcohol.
